About The Department
We have engaged the allied subjects for B.Com.,B.B.A. and M.Com.courses of Managerial Economics, Business Economic, International Economics, Indian Economy and Rural Economics and etc.
The Managerial economics and Business economics one of the most important indicator for the decision making of the business activity and international economics, rural economics and Indian economy are major contribution to the trade activity for the Nation, such as rural activity like farmer, forest, mining and animal husbandry.
In future, the department shall be started the UG and PG courses of B.A.(Economics) and M.A.(Economics) and Etc.

PhD public viva voce examination held on 16/09/2022.
Title of the thesis: Impact of Crop intensity and Technological changes in Agricultural sector, with special reference to Thiruvannamalai District.
The Ph.D Viva was successfully conducted on 10/1/2024 regarding the research topic "A Study on Consumer Buying Behaviour Towards Organic Food Products with Special Reference to Chennai District" at Sriram College of Arts & Science. The research candidate, Mrs. B.X. Jonitha Stany Many, presented her findings under the expert guidance of Research Supervisor Dr. Mu. Arumugam. The academic session was professionally moderated by the External Examiner Dr. N. Suresh Babu, in the presence of the Principal Dr. D. Saravanan and the Head of the Department of Economics, Mr. P.K. Murugan.
